Bengaluru: Thousands of dead fish have surfaced in the Bengaluru's Ulsoor Lake in the early hours of Monday. The reason behind such a disaster is suspected to be excessive pollution that has reached beyond control limits. 
The Ulsoor lake is a popular boating site.
The sight of the lake shocked the residents of the city on Monday morning. However, experts have said that this scene can be witnessed every March.

The lake which lies to the southeast of the city of Bangalore is also a part of the city’s drainage system and drains the southern and the south eastern parts of the city. The periodic water sampling of the lake waters had revealed extremely high amount of phosphorous and other inorganic chemical compounds.
