New Delhi: In a sensational twist to the Vijya Mallya Case, the Attorney General to the Supreme Court Mukul Rohatgi on Wednesday told the court that the beleaguered liquor baron Vijay Mallya has left the country on March 2.
The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the erstwhile liquor baron seeking a response on why his passport should not be impounded. The next hearing in the Supreme Court will be on 30th of March.
The banks have pin pulled up on why they gave Mallya such large loans given the fact that his company was not a profitable one at a time when he was asking for loans.
Further on the issue, Congress Leader Manish Tewari also launched a scathing attack on liquor baron Vijay Mallya and the Centre saying that Mallya was allowed to leave the country.
The former Union Minster Manish Tewari said, “It’s not surprising that the government has facilitated Mallya’s escape to London as he came in the Upper House on a BJP-JDS ticket”.
