AHMEDABAD: With its third defeat in eighth Indian Premier League (IPL 8), Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma on Tuesday blamed undisciplined bowling for their defeat to Rajasthan Royals.
After its loss by seven wickets, Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma explained, “We did not start well as it was a poor performance with the bat,” adding we have to take responsibility with bat and be a little disciplined with ball.
Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat first against Rajasthan Royals.
Sharma thanked Kieron Pollard and Corey Anderson for their 104-run partnership for the fourth wicket that helped the side reach a respectable total, saying “Thanks to Corey and Polly for bringing us back in the game. I think it was a decent score, not a great one but something to bowl at.”
However, Sharma also praised the Royals for batting well.
After the Mumbai Indians’ three consecutive defeats, Rohit said “We have some work to do.”
Rohit added that opener Aaron Finch, who developed cramps while running a single, would undergo a scan on Wednesday.
