Mumbai: Following a racially instigating speech by Raj Thackeray that urged Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) party supporters to burn auto-rickshaws belonging to non-Marathis, an auto rickshaw has been found set ablaze in Mumbai’s Andheri locality.

MNS Chief, Raj Thackeray, who portrays himself as the crusader for Marathis, has made an open call for violence urging his party men to identify new auto-rickshaws and burn them if the driver is not Marathi.

The police are trying to ascertain the identity of the perpetrators who set the auto-rickshaw ablaze in the jurisdiction of the Amboli Police Station.

There is no doubt that this speech was made to instigate violence at a time when the MNS is grovelling for votes and hanging on to its last thread for political relevance in Maharashtra.
