Moradabad: Addressing a crowd of BJP supporters on his birthday, BJP MP Varun Gandhi on Sunday had a close shave short off embracing the entire audience when the makeshift stage abruptly collapsed.
The stage on which Mr Gandhi was addressing the gathering was overcrowded with supporters when it gave in to the pressure and collapsed. The BJP MP had attended the event while he was on his way to Peeli Kothi Chowk on Moradabad to interact with farmers of Chhajlet.
MP Sarvesh Kumar, along with the Moradabad mayor, had organised a welcome ceremony for Varun Gandhi who is the MP of Sultanpur.

Luckily, no one was injured in the incident. Varun Gandhi emerged unscathed from the incident while the supporters gathered around the stage searched for casualties.
Varun Gandhi, who turns 36 today, is the MP of Sultanpur and the son of Indian Union Cabinet Minister for Women & Child Development Maneka Gandhi.
