New Delhi: A day after the exclusive Sunday Guardian interview with United Breweries ex-chairman Vijay Mallya, there were shockwaves across India on Monday and had resonance in Parliament.
In the Sunday Guardian interview, Vijay Mallya had said that he was being victimised and would not be returning to India soon.
In the Upper House, Rajya Sabha, the issue of Vijay Mallya leaving the country after owing banks almost $1 billion was brought up by several MP’S who want to move to the Ethics Committee of the Rajya Sabha to take action against Vijay Mallya who is still a Member of Parliament (MP).
Meanwhile, Congress raised questions in Parliament regarding Mallya. The party wanted to know whether the Government would bring back Mallya and what was being done to get the taxpayers’ money back which had been defaulted by Kingfisher Airlines.
