Air India tyre burst while taxiing at Mumbai Airport

New Delhi: An Air India aircraft (AI630) with over 150 passengers on board underwent a tyre burst on Tuesday while taxiing after it landed at Mumbai airport from Nagpur.

The aircraft had arrived from Nagpur when one of the tyres of Airbus-A320 burst during taxiing. The aircraft was then taken to a taxiway where passengers were evacuated with the help of emergency chutes.

Some of the passengers suffered injuries while they were being evacuated through the emergency chute.

The incident took place at around 10 PM.

The flight operation from the main runway at Mumbai airport was shut due the incident, the sources said.
