NEW DELHI: An immediate action from the Jammu and Kashmir government has been demanded by the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh against the separatist leaders who were a part of a rally which raised anti-India slogans and displayed Pakistani flags.

Rajnath Singh spoke with J&K Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed last night and made it clear that the issue of national security cannot be compromised.
Directing the CM, the Home Minister said, “Strictest possible action should be taken against those involved in it.”

After a gap of five years, the J&K government on Wednesday permitted Geelani to hold the rally where his supporters including Masrat Alam, recently released from jail raised pro-Pakistan slogans and supported Pakistani flags. (Also Read: SRINAGAR: Masrat Alam booked for unlawful activities)

Alam was then booked for unlawful activities on Wednesday. An FIR was filed against him for ‘provocative activities’ in Hyderpora area.
