New Delhi: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti will announce the course of governance in Jammu and Kashmir on Holi, March 24. After a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mufti addressed the media and said “Meeting with the Prime Minister was positive and when you meet the Prime Minister certain solutions are chalked out.”
However, the strong contender for the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir did not make anything official. She said that she was going back to Jammu and Kashmir and final decision will be made after a meeting with all the party MLAs on March 24.

Jammu and Kashmir was placed under governor's rule on January 8 after Chief Minister, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed passed away in New Delhi on January 7, and the PDP, which was ruling the state in a coalition with the Bharatiya Janata Party, did not come forward to stake claim to form a new government.
A political stalemate between the PDP and the BJP over government formation in the state has been continuing for nearly two months now.
