Pee in public, pay Rs 5000 Fine

Contributing towards the ‘Swachch Bharat’ scheme, the Urban Development Ministry has issued new guidelines making the rules stricter. This has come after the scheme the scheme was not implemented in many states. The rules include imposition of fine upto Rs 5000 for urinating in public.
The Centre has clearly instructed that it wants the guidelines to be implemented by April 30, 2016.
The penalty has been increased from merely Rs 200 to Rs 5000 now, which is like 25 times of the former.

The Central government is acting viz-a-viz after the much promoted campaign even at the level of Prime Minister. Government has come out for the first time for imposing penalty on those urinating in public.
It is high time that more such rules are implemented and with a strict punishment for its violation. Let’s hope that this rule makes people conscious and they start using public toilets instead of urinating in public.
