Lucknow: At a time when Bundelkhand is reeling under the fourth consecutive crop loss and a sharp increase in cases of farmer suicides, 17 ministers of the state are on a multi-country foreign trip under the name of the study tour.

According to reports, out of 17 legislatures, 15 are from the ruling Samajwadi Party (SP), 1 from Congress and one from Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD). UP Assembly speaker is supposedly leading the group of legislatures who will visit Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

Giving clarification over this issue, an independent MLA from UP Assembly Raja Bhaiya said “There is nothing illegal about it. We are going to these countries to study their work, their culture and to meet Indian community there”.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Manoj Jha said “A huge population is under crisis and many of them are migrating without having any certainty of where they are moving. Under such kind of conditions a better timing could have helped in much better way. Also it would have spoken about the sensitive nature of our democracy.”
