Mumbai engulfed in fire once again; fresh fire at Deonar dumping ground

Fresh fire has been reported in the Deonar dumping ground in early hours this morning. This has come a day after when the Congress staged ‘Rasta Roko’ protest demanding the shift of the dumping ground. 
The continuous fire blazing in the area has raised health concerns due to the smog prevailing in the adjacent areas. The locals have been complaining the about the health problems they have been suffering. People suffer from breathing problems, irritation, eye infection and many other such problems.

Deonar dumping ground has been in news due to successive fires that have broken out in the past two months. Deonar was engulfed with fire a few days back on March 19 which led to forming of a thick layer of smog around the area causing serious health problems and trouble for the locals. Another massive fire was witnessed in this dumping ground on January 27, which could be doused after seven days of round the clock fire-fighting.
