New Delhi: In a massive 55% extra bonanza for the state’s legislators, Madhya Pradesh government on Wednesday gave green signal for the hike of Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) and Cabinet Ministers salary.
Previously the salary of an MLA in Madhya Pradesh was Rs 71,000 which has now been increased up to RS 1,10,000. The decision was pending from a fortnight after the comment of Prime Minister on the condition of farmers in Madhya Pradesh.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s government succumbed to the pressure of the MLAs and the order was approved by the government. Cabinet Ministers will now get Rs 1,70,000 instead of Rs 1,20,000. President of the legislative assembly receives Rs 1,80,000 under salary head and the Chief Minister of the state will get approximately Rs 2,00,000 now instead of the earlier amount of Rs 1,43,000.
Earlier this month, Chouhan had announced that the MLA development funds have been raised to Rs 2,00,00,000 from the current Rs 80,00,000 for the overall development of the state.
