Gatimaan Express: Suresh Prabhu flags off India's fastest train
Delhi: Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Tuesday flagged off Indian's fastest train Gatimaan Express. The train started its journey from Nizamuddin in Delhi and will end at Agra. Resuming the speed of 160 km/per hour, the journey to Agra will be concluded in just 100 minutes.
Some of the features of the high speed Gatimaan Express includes 12 ultra modern coaches, a lavish menu and a 6 inch LED screens at the back of each seat.
The coaches are designed in a unique way keeping in mind the comfort of people. The seats are made in such a manner that there is enough leg space just like flight and even the train will have train hostess like air hostess.
Another unique feature of Gatimaan Express is free of cost on board entertainment facility as passengers can view various entertaining videos during travel on their smart phone, tablets or laptops even without internet connection through WiFi.
The coaches used in train have been fitted with bio-toilets.
The 12050 Nizamuddin - Agra - Nizamuddin Gatimaan Express will run six days a week except Friday on both directions. According to the schedule, the train will start journey from Nizamuddin at 8.10 AM to reach Agra at 9.50 AM. In the return direction, the Gatimaan Express will depart from Agra at 5.50 PM to reach Nizamuddin at 7.30 PM.
The fare for chair car in fully air conditioned Gatimaan Express has been fixed at Rs 690, while for Executive Class it will be Rs 1,365.
