NEW DELHI: Making grave accusations against Aam Aadmi Party leaders, rebel leader Prashant Bhushan on Monday alleged that AAP leader Ashish Khetan cooked up stories for Essar in Tehelka magazine where he earlier worked.
“Ashish Khetan planted stories for Essar in Tehelka and wrote stories in favour of 2G accused and the company paid Tehelka Rs 3 crore for its Thinkfest,” he said.
Bhushan further charged Pankaj Gupta of another party taking Rs. 2 crore from the shell companies. He referred to the Rs. 2 crore donations to AAP exposed by rebel group Aam Aadmi Volunteer Action Manch (AVAM).
Following the allegations made by AVAM, the Income Tax department had asked AAP to give details on the donations of more than Rs. 2 crore to the party. The AVAM accused AAP of knowingly accepting funds from bogus firms.
The AVAM had charged that several companies who claim to have given funds to AAP have also given funds to others.
Speaking on the shocking allegations made by the rebel AAP, Ashutosh defended Khetan in front of the media and slammed his colleagues. “Allegations made against Ashish Khetan are baseless. They sound similar to the charges raised by the Bharati Janata Party. Arun Jaitley had made such allegations earlier,” Ashutosh said.
