Murder accused escapes from Tihar jail

New Delhi: An undertrial in a murder case escaped from Delhi Police custody here on Monday while being taken to Haryana to be presented before a court, an officer said.
Deepak Dabas, in his late 30s, was lodged in the Tihar Central Jail in Delhi.
"He was to be presented before a court in Sonepat and was being taken there on a production warrant. He managed to give a slip to the Delhi Police team in west Delhi's Bawana market," said the officer.
The officer said a case has been registered regarding the incident at Bawana police station while efforts are on to nab Dabas, a resident of Majra Dabas village in west Delhi.
