New Delhi: In a massive face-off which is brewing between RK Pachauri and prominent women activist Vrinda Grover, many have expressed outrage at the former TERI chief RK Pachauri.
Pachauri has filed a civil suit for injunction and has demanded damages of Rs. 1 crore from lawyer Vrinda Grover for pursuing the case of sexual harassment against him.
There was a strong reaction from women activists following the defamation suit filed by RK Pachauri.
Vrinda Grover while speaking to NewsX said, "It is an act of desperation by a man who is now going to compelled to face the criminal prosecution. You can try and evade the law for some time but it catches up with you. When a woman breaks the silence on sexual harassment, it takes a lot of courage to be able to stand up particularly when you know that the accused is the seniormost influential boss."
On asking her about her repeated written letters to police officials last year, Grover said, "I had a meeting with the DCP south and their entire investigation team. The FIR was lodged on 18th February, 2015. On 26th February, 2015 a meeting was held when I told them I had two other women complainants and I would like their statements to be recorded after the meeting. I waited for their response but after waiting for a while I wrote a letter in March but my letter was not even acknowledged. After that I wrote a letter to the Police commissioner Mr. Bassi which also went unacknowledged."
