Islamabad: Following the death of Indian prisoner Kripal Singh in Pakistani jail on Tuesday, the acting Indian High Commissioner in Islamabad has been instructed to seek a meeting at the highest possible level in Pakistan’s Foreign office for early transportation of Kripal’s mortal remains.

According to Pakistan authorities, Kirpal Singh died following a sudden cardiac arrest. The Indian authorities will also be asking for the official information including cause of death and post mortem report.

Reports suggest that the acting High Commissioner, given that HC was not in Islamabad, will be taking this issue with the Pakistan’s Foreign Office (FO) at the highest level.

The Indian High Commission was already in touch with Pak Foreign Office, but there was no initial response on this issue.
