In a big development in the Vijay Mallya case, a big blow has been swung at the liquor baron. The Enforcement Directorate (ED), on Wednesday, as per sources, has decided to revoke Mallya’s passport.

Once referred to as the ‘King of Good Times’ and ‘the playboy of the East’ due to his extravagant lifestyle, Mallya and his companies have been embroiled in financial controversies and difficulties in recent years, and especially since 2012.

Vijay Mallya left India on 2 March 2016 after saying he wanted to move to Britain to be closer to his children.

The authorities had summoned Mallya thrice in the past, all of which he failed to attend.
