A Pakistani boat detained off Porbandar coast

AHMEDABAD: During a joint operation, Indian Navy and the Coast Guard officials on Monday detained a suspected Pakistani boat off Porbandar coast reportedly with smugglers.

The security personnel seized around 140 kg of heroine. Apart from this, two satellite phones were also recovered from the Pakistani boat, said reports adding that the detained boat is being brought towards Porbandar.
Two Navy ships, one Coast Guard ship and the Navy’s surveillance aircraft, Dornier were involved in the operation. According to the officials, the ship is suspected to have been involved in smuggling.

The news comes months after a Pakistani boat suspected to be carrying explosives on board was intercepted by the Indian Coast Guard before it blew up and sank with its four crew members on the intervening night of December 31, 2014 off the Porbandar coast after a hot pursuit by the Coast Guard.
