Captain Vijayakanth

Salem: In another disgraceful incident on Wednesday, the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) Chief Captain Vijayakanth was caught on camera assaulting a journalist when asked a question.
According to reports, the incident occurred when journalists who were waiting for Vijayakanth at a party meeting at Salem questioned the Captain. After the meeting was over, journalists approached him to get his reaction over what happened in the meeting when Vijayakanth pushed the mike of the reporter.
Another reporter was pushed when he kept persistently asking Vijayakanth what happened in the meeting.
This is not the first time that the DMDK chief Vijayakanth has assaulted or displayed rude behaviour. There have been incidents when he once had a spat with a journalist who was asking difficult questions and once when the Captain slapped a journalist.

The reporting, I think, is incorrect. Mr. Vijayakanth pushed not a journalist, but his own security man. Perhaps, he was doing this as the security man was 'managing' Mr. Vijayakanth to stay away from any confrontation (especially, when Mr. V. was in a sort of unstable condition) with the journalist of whoever the other person was.
