Agartala: Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the much-heralded spiritual leader who recently conducted the Art of Living festival in Delhi, said on Thursday that he tried to pacify the violence being spread by ISIS (Islamic State) via a message.

Sri Sri said that his intention on sending a message to ISIS was to initiate peace talks with them. But when the celebrated guru sent a message of peace to the terrorist group, ISIS in return sent a picture of a beheaded man’s body to him.

“Hence, they should be dealt with militarily,” Sri Sri told the press in Agartala.

After a three-day visit to Tripura, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has left for Kolkata. The spiritual guru has emphasised on the need to bring peace to the northeastern region of India.
