New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Parliamentary party meeting began at 9.30 am on Tuesday. Several key issues, including repeated adjournment of the Parliament proceedings over Uttarakhand issue, are likely to be discussed.
Meanwhile, the Congress Party is set to raise the Uttarakhand President's rule issue in the Rajya Sabha, even as the government has maintained that sub-judice matters cannot be discussed.
On Monday, the leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge and senior leader K.C. Venugopal, observed a sit down protest with other 20 Congress Members of Parliament, near the well of the Lower House as the Uttarakhand issue dominated the proceedings.
Slogans such as 'Manmani nahi chalegi' and 'Loktantra ki Hatya', denouncing the NDA government over their actions in the hill state, were also chanted by the leaders.
Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu had made a statement that the government is willing to discuss every issue in Parliament, but hinted that President's rule in Uttarakhand may not be discussed, as the matter is sub-judice.
