VVIP scam: CBI questions Gautam Khaitan

New Delhi: Gautam Khaitan, on Monday, reached the CBI headquarters for further questioning in connection with the AgustaWestland deal.
As investigation agencies dig out the details on AugustaWestland scam, cops are keenly scrutinizing documents obtained from Italian prosecutors.
Earlier, the ED had issued summons to Shravan Gupta, promoter of realty major Emaar-MGF. Gupta was questioned on Guido Haschke and Gautam Khaitan, the two middlemen of AgustaWestland's presence as board of directors of Emaar-MGF in 2009.
MGF is part of Emaar-MGF and in September 2009, the company had appointed Haschke and Gautam Khaitan as directors on its board. Incidentally, the same company had built the Commonwealth Games villages in New Delhi and hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons with the Union Urban Development Ministry and the Delhi Development Authority going out of the way to sweeten the deal for Emaar-MGF.
