Kerala rape: Perumbavoor deputy superintendent of police removed

Perumbavoor: The brutal rape and murder of Kerala law student has rocked the industrial town of Perumbavoor. According to the news agency ANI, Perumbavoor's deputy superintendent of police, Anil Kumar has been removed from the investigating team due to lapses.
Kerala has been rising up in fury against the dalit girl’s rape and brutal murder. The town saw hundreds of people from various walks of life throng the town from the morning demanding the arrest of those involved in the crime.
The 30-year-old dalit student was found murdered on April 28, at her home. Her attackers are suspected to have raped her and committed mind-numbing torture. Postmortem report revealed close 38 wounds in the body, thereby indicating sexual assault before murder.  The dalit student was reportedly stabbed 30 times and found by her mother with her intestines pulled out.
It was only yesterday that the police cordoned off her house as a crime scene and brought in forensic experts to collect evidence, fuelling public anger over the crime and the lax response to it.
In the poll-focused state, the news hardly made headlines the following day, and the grisly details only trickled in, five days after the incident.
