New Delhi: A high-level internal security meet is being held in the national capital Delhi between NSA Chief Ajit Doval, General Dalbir Singh and defence minister Manohar Parrikar. This high-level security meet is being chaired by the Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
This meet comes after three alleged members of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) were captured from the national capital on Wednesday. It is being reported that the alertness of the Delhi cops has foiled a Pathankot-like plot that could have taken place in the nation's capital. A mall and an airbase were the target of the terrorists.
In the past few days there has been sharp criticism of the central government’s manner of handling the aftermath of the Pathankot attack.
The Standing Committee of Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday had pulled up the Centre for the January 2 Pathankot terror attack and had raised questions on the Pathankot attack and that the available intelligence inputs were actually ignored.
The report also mentioned that the security agencies were actually ill-prepared to anticipate these threats in time and counter them swiftly and decisively and that intelligence was ignored.
