PM Modi to meet Kerala rape victim's family

Perumbavoor: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit the family of the Dalit woman, who was brutally raped and murdered in Perumbavoor, on May 11.
Reports claim, Social Justice Minister, Thawar Chand Gehlot will also visit Kerala and meet the victim's family.
The deputy police officer of Perumbavoor, today, has been removed from the team investigating the savage rape and murder case of the law student in Kerala, after several lapses.
The student had allegedly been stabbed 30 times and her back was covered with bite marks. Her smashed genitals indicated she had been brutalised with a sharp object. Her mother, who found her mutilated body, was admitted to hospital for trauma.
The brutal murder has since than triggered massive protests in the state. The protests are in sharp contrast to the stoic silence the town witnessed for the first five days since the savage murder.
It was on the seventh day that Chief Minister Minister Oommen Chandy visited the traumatised mother and sister in hospital, offering them a government job and financial assistance of Rs. 10 lakh. His visit was soon followed by the Opposition Leader VS Achuthanandan's. Kerala is in the midst of its election.
