Chennai: With Tamil Nadu Assembly polls inching closer, political heavyweights are leaving no stone unturned to boost their respective campaigns.
In a bid to bring Congress back to contention across the country, party’s President Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi are expected to share the stage in Tamil Nadu with DMK chief M Karunanidhi to address a major rally on Thursday.
Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa too, has rescheduled her plans and decided to address five rallies in Chennai on Friday. This is the maximum number of rallies she has ever addressed this poll season.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi too will also be making a pitch to attract voters on Friday.
Another national leader to address a rally in Tamil Nadu on May 9 might be BSP chief Mayawati. Meanwhile, CPM General Secretary Sitaram Yechury who has already visited the state on multiple occasions will address several meetings in the state.
