Train derails in Tamil Nadu, 8 injured

Chennai: Two coaches of 12623 Chennai Thiruvananthapuram Super-Fast Mail were derailed when the train collided with an Electrical Multiple Unit near the Pattabiram railway station, about 30 kilometres from Chennai late on Thursday evening.
At least eight people were injured. They were taken to a government hospital in Avadi. EMUs from Tiruttani towards Moore Market Complex were detained at Pattabhiram and other stations in between.
The train that runs from Chennai Central to Thiruvananthapuram wasreportedly derailed at around 8.20 pm.
So far, no casualty has been reported. The actual cause of the accident is also unknown.
