Congress, march, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Manmohan Singh, Sonia vows to save democracy

New Delhi: The Congress on Friday took to the streets calling their protest against democracy the 'Save Democracy' march.
Leading the way was none other than the Congress president Sonia Gandhi flanked by former PM Manmohan Singh and Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi.
The opposition was protesting against the NDA government and its attempts at squashing democracy in the elected states of Uttarakhand and Arunachal Pradesh.
Rahul Gandhi took the stage and launched a three-pronged attack at the NDA. "Modiji had spoken of Ache Din; today the country is reeling under drought, farmers are committing suicides, but Modiji has nothing to say."
"Modiji spoke about giving 2 crore jobs every year, we saw 'Make in India' on TV channels and big shows in Mumbai. But the reality is that only 1.3 lakh jobs were given in one year!"
"Elected governments in Uttarakhand and Arunachal were toppled, elected representatives removed and the law broken."
"People are being discriminated on the basis of their education. If one is 10th pass they will not be allowed to contest the panchayat elections. The path of democracy is being closed for a lot of Dalit women too."
"In the country today only two people are spoken about — Mohan Bhagwat and Narendra Modi."
"Congress will continue to fight for democracy, for the people of India, for the poor of India, for the farmer of and for the Indian labourer. We will fight and win," Rahul concluded.
Former PM Manmohan Singh addressing the gathering said, "Congress is like a flowing river, no matter how many false allegations you level against it, it will not divert from its path."
"Congress always made sacrifices and took steps that are needed to save democracy and will continue to do so," added the senior leader.
Amidst loud cheers Congress president took the stage. "No matter how much they try to fight democracy, we will not let you succeed," Sonia Gandhi said.
"Life has taught me to struggle, we have faced a lot of challenges. They don’t know what we are made of. Nothing new for us to fight anti-national elements."
"Satta ki inki (BJP) bhook badhti ja rahi hai, loktantrik tarikey se chuni humari sarkar ko gira kar loktantra ki hatya ki hai," said Sonia Gandhi.
"We are the people who have given their blood and laid down their lives to protect the basic principles of humanity."
"Humein daraane ki, badnaam karne ki kitni bhi koshish ye log kar lein par hum jhukne walon mein se nhi."
