New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet Telangana Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao, to discuss the drought in the state and review of the situation on the ground on Tuesday, reports said.

Various states in India, including Telangana, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, have been severely hit by drought. Over 500 deaths due to sunstroke have been reported so far in Telangana while Maharashtra struggles to provide water to over 28,000 villages.

The Telangana Telugu Desam Party had earlier urged the Governor to declare the entire state as drought hit.

The PM, on Saturday, met the chief ministers of Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka on Saturday to review the situation.
