New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday said that they could extend the parole of Subrata Roy only if he agrees to deposit Rs 200 crores with SEBI by 11th July.
Further requests of extension of parole may be considered after that.
Earlier the Supreme Court had released Sahara chief Subrata Roy on parole for four weeks to attend the religious rituals of his mother who had passed away in Lucknow on May 06.
A special bench headed by chief justice TS Thakur allowed Roy’s plea to participate in the rituals. Roy has been in Delhi’s Tihar jail since March 2014.
