NEW DELHI: Ahead of delegation level talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani on Monday met External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
President Ghani, on his three-day visit to India reached Delhi last night and was received by Minister of State for Finance Jayant Sinha at Palam airport.
He was accorded a ceremonial welcome at Dwarka suite Rashtrapati Bhavan and later headed for Hyderabad House ahead of talks with PM Modi.
The Afghan President will soon be called on by several ministers, including Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and Health Minister JP Nadda.
President Ghani will hold a business meeting with Indian business organisations, CII, FICCI and ASSOCHAM on Tuesday and will be leaving the country tomorrow evening.
