The cops met with the accident when returning on a motorcycle

Bhopal: In a shocking road mishap, two police officers have been crushed to death by a truck loaded with sand in Madhya Pradesh’s Sehore district on Wednesday night.

Sub-Inspector Ramdutt Singh (55) and Assistant SI Sunil Verma (59) reportedly met with the accident when returning on a motorcycle.

Reports said they were crossing a railway bridge near the Sehore - Hoshangabad border when a speeding truck coming from the opposite direction hit the motorcycle and crushed the duo.

 The policemen were rushed to hospital where doctors declared them dead on arrival.

Verma hailed from Uttar Pradesh’s Jalaun district and Singh belonged to Madhya Pradesh’s Bhind district. The duo was posted at Budhni police station in Sehore for two years.

Police have impounded the truck that had a Haryana registration number plate but the driver managed to escape.
