New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sushil Modi met deceased journalist, Rajdev Ranjan’s family, who was shot dead in Bihar’s Siwan district on May 13.
While talking to media, Sushil Modi hinted at the powerful people ‘sitting’ in jail and said, “The culprits can be the powerful people behind bars and Bihar government lacks the courage to take any action against such people.”
The minister further quoted a recent example of where the Bihar government minister, Abdul Ghafoor, met former RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin, who is in jail for charges of kidnapping and murder.
Sushil Modi condemned the Ghafoor-Shahabuddin incident by saying that the authorities instead of taking any action against Abdul Ghafoor, suspended the jail superintendent.
He further added that even the people of Siwan know who all are involved behind the killing of the scribes.
The BJP minister was of the opinion that the case can be solved only by an inquiry by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
So far, two people have been detained in the Rajdev Ranjan murder case and the investigation is underway.
