Vijayawada: At least seven people were killed after the collapse of a wall of an under construction mall, about 35 km from Vijayawada, in the Guntur city of Madhya Pradesh.
As per the reports, a total of 8 workers were trapped. While one was rescued, the other seven lost their lives.
It was when a 30-feet deep cellar was being dug for a proposed multi-storey building at the Lakshipuram area in Guntur when this unfortunate incident took place. While the work was under process, a sudden landslip occurred, trapping the workers inside.
The district collector and other officials rushed to the accident site. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu also went to the site to oversee the rescue efforts.
