Siwan journalist murder: Nitish's nod for CBI probe in scribe's murder case

New Delhi: After promising swift action against the guilty on Saturday, Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has now readily agreed for a CBI probe into the journalist Rajdev Ranjan's murder case. 

Condemning the murder of Rajdeo Ranjan, the bureau chief of a hindi daily, Hindustan; Nitish said the probe would be expedited and Bihar Police will bring to book those responsible for the killing.
Ranjan, a journalist with Hindi daily Hindustan was shot dead by criminals near the Siwan railway station. 
Upendra Singh, a history sheeter allegedly linked to RJD strongman and former Lok Sabha MP from Siwan Mohammed Shahabuddin have been reportedly detained in connection with the incident. The police has reportedly decided to probe their role in the murder of Rajdeo Ranjan, who was gunned down on Friday.
It remains to be seen how swiftly the probe is initiated  in the backdrop of surge in crime rate in the state of Bihar and the growing outrage following the scribe's death.
