Chandigarh: A large number of Aam Admi Party (AAP) supporters on Monday marched in the streets of Chandigarh protesting against Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and food grain scam.

The protest is against the alleged Rs 12,000-crore missing food grain scam in Punjab, rampant corruption and failure of the Punjab government to curb a booming drugs racket.

The protesters demanded punishment to Tota Singh who was allegedly involved in pesticide scam which led to suicide of farmers in the state. AAP claimed that the scam was the biggest ever food grain scam in Indian history and the state and central governments were trying to cover up the embezzlement.

The protest will also fit into the narrative that AAP wants to stay relevant for state assembly polls to be held next year. Earlier, around 350 police personnel have been deputed along the road from where the AAP workers would pass through.
