As the trends poured in, the prediction of exit polls started to take the real picture. The exit poll data hinted at a historic victory for the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) in Assam with the exit of Congress’ Tarun Gogoi as Chief Minister.
 
Exit polls predict a loss for Congress in Kerala. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy might lose out to the Left Democratic Front (LDF). Election Commission officials said counting of votes, which commenced at 8 am, will be over by 3 pm.
