Rahul Gandhi congratulates winning parties

New Delhi: Soon after the results of the Assembly Elections 2016 results were declared, Indian National Congress (INC) vice president Rahul Gandhi took to his Twitter handle and said “we accept the verdict of people with humility. My best wishes to the parties that have won the elections”.

He also thanked all the party workers for giving in their best efforts during the elections.

Rahul Gandhi said the party will try to win the confidence of the people of the country and will work harder to achieve the goal.

Congress failed to dethrone Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress in West Bengal while losing out on Assam where the Bharatiya Janata Party is all set to take over from Tarun Gogoi after three terms. Congress also failed to make any impact in Tamil Nadu where Jayalalithaa-led AIADMK won big.

The results for elections in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and Puducherry were declared on May 19.
