New Delhi: CPI(M) leader Sita Ram Yechury on Thursday hailed the people of Kerala for showing faith in the Left-led alliance in the state in the assembly elections.

Yechury said that the victory was a result of people’s dissatisfaction with performanve of ruling UDF in state.

Thanking the people of Kerala, Yechury said, “We salute the people of Kerala for the faith they have reposed in the LDF, we will fulfill the promises made”.

Speaking about Bengal mandate where Left front looks set to suffer a huge defeat, Yechury said that the front will review the reasons for defeat and come up with a better strategy for the upcoming polls in other states.

In Kerala the Left-led alliance is leading in 85 constituencies comfortably surpassing the halfway mark in the 140-member Assembly.
