Uttarakhand: Uttarakhand police on Saturday arrested 3 people in connection with the scuffle which resulted in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Tarun Vijay receiving head injuries. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat had assured swift action.
BJP MP Tarun Vijay was attacked by a mob for allegedly entering a temple prohibited for Dalits. The scuffle broke out outside Silgur Devta Temple near Musoorie in Uttarakhand. Tarun Vijay suffered serious abrasions in the scuffle and was later admitted in a hospital. 
Vijay's car was also vandalised by the mob. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat had expressed concern over the incident and personally visited Vijay at the hospital to assure him that swift action will be taken against the perpetrators. 
Three people have been arrested so far in connection with the attack by the Uttarakhand police.
