Mohali: Raman Kashyap, a commerce student of Government School in Sector 20, Chandigarh, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence in Shivalik Vihar, Naya Gaon, on Sunday. 
“The reason behind his taking the extreme step was failure in the Class XII examination. He took the step immediately after seeing his result, which was declared today morning,” the police said.
According to his family members, Raman saw his result on the internet and after that, he went to his room on the third floor where he allegedly ended his life.
“He did not leave behind any suicide note,” said Inspector Samar Vineet, SHO, Nayagaon police station, adding that the victim’s father is a cancer patient.
