Kolkata: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Roopa Ganguly was attacked on Sunday by unknown miscreants in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas.
The actress-turned-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was aassaulted while she was returning from Ishwaripur village of Kakdwip district after visiting some injured BJP workers.
As per reports, Roopa had gone to meet the BJP supporters, admitted at Kakdwip Hospital, who had been allegedly beaten up by TMC workers on Saturday.
While she was returning to Kolkata, a group of villagers blocked the way of her convoy and attacked her. The unknown attackers manhandled her and vandalized her vehicle.
The BJP leader along with her other party activists who were injured from the sudden attack have all been admitted to the Diamond Harbor Hospital. Roopa is known to have sustained head injuries. 
Police force was rushed to the site of the incident, but no arrests have been made so far.
