Noida: A 27-year-old man was killed while another was seriously injured after a road signage fell on a motorcycle and a car near DLF Mall in Noida Sector 18, during a dust storm on Monday evening.

Munna Kumar was waiting with his friend Pushpendra near the DLF Mall when the signage came down on them.

Munna died on the spot while Pushpendra sustained head injuries. The latter has been admitted at Max Hospital in Noida.

A silver Alto car was also damaged but the driver managed to escape.

An inquiry has been ordered by the Noida Authority officials and the report is expected to come within a week.

Noida MLA Vimla Batham reacted to the incident and said that the responsibility lies with Noida Authority officials and also UP govt must respond.

"l have tried to get answers from the authority but nothing concrete so far. Will now meet the victim's family", Vimla said.

A similar incident took place in Ghaziabad some two weeks ago where five people were injured after a signage fell on the road.
