Mohali: Simrandeep Kaur of BGSUS Senior Secondary School, Tarn Taran, topped the class X exams by securing 99.08%. The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) declared the results on Tuesday.
 
Simarpreet Kaur of Prabhakar Senior Secondary School, Chehratta in Amritsar, bagged the second position with 98.92 per cent marks and Arsh Malhotra of Shivalik Model School, Jagraon, came third in the state by securing 98.77 per cent marks. 
 
A seperate merit list was prepared by the board for the sports category students but they made it clear that the toppers would be considered from the acedemics category only.
 
Pushwinder Kaur and Tanisha Sharma, both students of BCM Senior Secondary School, Ludhiana, secured 100 per cent marks in the examination in the sports category. 
 
The pass percentage for this year is 72.25 per cent which is around four per cent more than the last year and yet again the girls outshined the boys.
