Bengaluru: A Dalit woman was allegedly attacked by the Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s security staff during a monthly public grievance meeting at his residence. The woman was humiliated, detained and called a call girl by the security officials.

According to reports, the Dalit woman had gone to meet the CM to seek his help over a dispute. However, CM’s security officials didn’t let her in and made her wait for the entire day.

“The officers humiliated me and called me a call girl and this happened in front of everyone. I had gone for the Janata Darshan just to seek help and in turn got humiliated, the Dalit woman said.

The police officials, however, had a different story to tell. One of the cops said that the Dalit woman had threatened to commit suicide at CM’s residence and that’s why they took her into custody.

The allegations made by the woman that police humiliated her are completely baseless. We have a video recording to prove that the charges are completely baseless, said N S Megharik, the Police Commissioner of Bengaluru.

The former Chief Minister of Karnataka, HD Kumaraswamy, condemned the attack and demanded a probe into the matter.
