Uttar Pradesh: Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan on Thursday slammed Bajrang Dal for organising ‘self-defence’ training camps. He said such events lead to polarisation of the society, which is not in the interest of the nation.

Azam Khan said that the camp should not have been organised and a probe should be ordered into the matter.

“There should not be any polarization. Some political parties can do it for their benefits, other than the BJP. This is not good politics, the Samajwadi leader told the media in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh.

Azam Khan further stated that the communal atmosphere of the country is getting affected, adding that parties should not try to derive political mileage from the matter.

A Bajrang Dal leader was arrested last night by the Police in connection with the camp conducted in Ayodhya. The arrest comes after an FIR was lodged against Bajrang Dal workers at the Ayodhya police station.

The video that has grabbed a lot of attention shows the Bajrang Dal workers being trained to use rifles, swords and sticks so that they can ‘protect the Hindus’. The cadres can also be seen killing men dressed as Muslims during the mock drill.
