West Bengal: While speaking to media persons on Thursday concerning his indictment in the skeleton recovery case, CPI-M (Communist Party of India Marxist) leader Sushanta Ghosh was publicly slapped outside a local court in Midnapore where the gathering was taking place.
Manoranjan Sing, a man who alleged that one of the skeletons found in Ghosh's ancestral home in Benachapra village was that of his son, Swapan Sing, walked up to Ghosh while the latter was addressing the media and slapped him on the left side of his face.
Sushanta Ghosh was speaking outside the chief judicial magistrates courtroom when the incident took place. The two men had to be separated by the police.
Police has detained Sing after the incident.
Sushanta Ghosh was arrested in 2o11 following the discovery of skeletal remains of human inside his ancestral home Benachapra village in West Midnapore district. Ghosh alleged that it was all a conspiracy directed against him by the Trinamool Congress (TMC).
