On Wednesday night, the 23-year-old Niegrian student was thrashed by locals over a parking dispute in Hyderabad.
The incident comes days after a 23-year-old Congolese national was beaten to death in south Delhi’s Vasant Kunj area.
The MEA said in a statement that India deeply values its relations with foreign students, particularly those from Africa, with which the country has had a historically close relationship and asserted it will be ensured that the African students continue to find a welcome home in India and such unfortunate incidents do not recur.
